Guest Blogging Opportunities for South African Bloggers
Guest blogging opportunities are all over the internet, but which of the many websites offering guest blogging spaces are worth your writing time?
If you haven’t yet heard of guest blogging yet, it’s simply a blog post that you write for a third-party website. These posts are beneficial to both parties. The host website is getting great content without having to write it all, and the blogger is spreading their work all over the internet.
Why You Should Guest Blog
So why should you spend time writing good-quality content for someone else’s website when you could rather be writing for your own? Here’s why:
It’s good for your SEO
Submitting guest posts usually ends up in a link back to your site. We call these links backlinks. The more backlinks your site has, the higher your Domain Authority is, and the higher your website will be able to rank in Google.
You’ll find a new audience
Having your writing shared on another website gives you access to a brand new audience. Perhaps one that you may not have reached otherwise.
You’ll have more freedom in subject choices
For the bloggers who have specific niche blogs, sometimes subject choices can seem limited. You can’t really write about the best chocolate mousse recipe ever created on your fitness blog. Well, you could but it may confuse your readers. So having an outlet with guest blogging allows you to write more varied topics.

Should You Accept Guest Posts on Your Blog?
Accepting guest posts on your own blog can be as beneficial to you as it is to the guest bloggers. Consistent content works wonders for any website and having guest bloggers can help you populate your blog even when you don’t have time.
If you do decide to accept guest posts, simply come up with some guidelines, and add a page on your blog for potential guest bloggers to find and submit. You can even have a list of acceptable topics.
This website allows you to add your blog to their list and other people can find you and submit guest posts.
Last Tips On Writing Guest Posts
Before you submit a guest post on any website, make sure you understand how their process works. Whether or not they’ll link to your site, or even credit you. How many words your post should be, the different niches that are accepted, and any other guideline.
There is also the question of payment. While all the websites we’ve mentioned above do not charge for guest posts, some websites will. So check beforehand if they expect payment in return for publishing your post.
While you want your writer’s voice to shine through, if you don’t give the website quality content that they are happy with, they won’t likely publish your post.
And one last thing – never copy, steal or recycle content. Make sure that every post you’re submitting is original and fresh!
