About Cloud communication platforms

Cloud communication platforms sound complicated but they are actually just an internet based data and voice communication bay third party used to host telecommunication applications, switching and storage. These are then avaliable to access over the internet.

Cloud services are therefore a broad term to describe the data centre hosted services that run and are accessed over an internet infrastructure.

The place to be

With the introduction of cloud services businesses, unsurprisingly have adopted one form of Cloud communication or another.

Cloud platforms offer more agility in business, a greater flexibility to businesses and open up new opportunities for all businesses to be more innovative.

However, not fully understanding the advantages and features of their Cloud platform fully, many businesses only use 20-40% of their cloud features.

With the pandemic changing the way many businesses operate, Cloud storage has become essential for optimising businesses and many people are starting to look at ways to implement these efficiently within the day to day operations of their business.

As most businesses have a presence online and are mobile user friendly it’s important that they use a reliable Cloud platform to ensure users have a positive and reliable experience.

IPX offers that experience to users but what is IPX?

According to Wikipedia IPX stands for Internet Packet Exchange /Sequenced Package Exchange ( SPX)

These are networking protocols used with various Windows applications.

These protocols have similar functions and will define how any data is sent and recieved between devices. It establishes and maintains a strong enough connection in order to transfer data and create a network between the systems.

PIX network

With sensitive and private data floating in a cloud between networks a business also needs to know that the data transfer has a secure connection and is not open to possible hacking.

To achieve this, cloud platforms use a firewall to protect data. One like IPX network.

PIX or Private Internet Exchange is a firewall providing a full firewall protection and at the same time concealing the architecture of an internal network from anyone outside.

The function of a firewall is to act as a barrier between a public internet and private internal network. The firewall therefore allows any non threatening traffic through but stops any threatening traffic and keeps it out.

Essentially your firewall uses a IP adress to do this. A users IP adress contains relevant informations like location and whether the device is accessible for communications. The Internet relies on the IP adress to differentiate different computers, devices, routers and websites.

But what happens if your Internet is not stable and congested? How does a business who relies on cloud communication platforms but requires a low latency and independence from the public network spectrum optimised their business?

Private LTE

Private LTE and other 5G networks are referred to as non public networks and are networks using a licenced, shared or unlicensed wireless spectrum along with a LTE, Radio Access Network cover ( RAN) or a 5G cellular network base station to assist in transferring data to devices.

LTE is a 4G networking technology used by cellular networks. LTE offers a secure, fast and reliable connectivity

These systems work in the same manner, allowing devices to transmit data to other network infrastructures.
